Brackenfell Property Sales & News
The Brackenfell lifestyle has all the features and facilities of a city, but the heart of a town. Enjoy our 'countryside feeling' and close-knit neighbourhoods, with residents walking their dogs, jogging and kids riding on their bicycles or catching fish in some of the local parks (Please note that all fish caught must be released 😊)
Brackenfell is situated at the gateway to the Cape Winelands. The area offers beautiful views of both Table Mountain and the peaceful Winelands mountains. Several wine estates and entertainment venues are on your doorstep, as well as popular mountain biking and hiking trails for the active bunch. The Scottish Immigrant, Henry George Walton, purchased a section of the farm, Kruispad in 1901 from Andries Brink. He named the purchased section Brackenfell after a fern that was common in the area (Bracken means fern; Fell means hill). It started out as a major road crossing and the township was established in 1913.
Today Brackenfell has become one of the most desirable Northern Suburbs of the Mother City and property is booming. With strategic planning and rapid development over the last years, residents have benefitted greatly from improved road infrastructure, as well as new residential, commercial and industrial developments. Residential properties offer an interesting mix of apartments, townhouses, security estates, upmarket luxury homes, as well as retirement villages.
