It's Spring... a time to BEE Happy

The season of new beginnings and change has finally arrived again. The days are longer, and the weather is warmer, it is surely a great time of year to be out and about. But is spring a good time to sell your home? The agent's answer is yes and here's why:

Many buyers love a home with a well-manicured garden and what better time for your garden to look it's freshest than in Spring. Gardens become alive after being semi dormant in winter. With trees and flowers in full bloom, gardens look inviting and the curb appeal of a home presents easier in spring than what it does in winter or in the blistering heat of summer. Curb appeal helps attract buyers to your home.

Not only does spring bring along with it, the chirping birds, and the busy bees, but also longer days. This is perfect for selling homes because more daylight hours mean there is more time available to schedule viewings in natural light.

Sunshine always works wonders when it comes to selling a home. Sunshine adds wonderful accents to a home that general lighting could never achieve. The warmer weather makes it easier for prospective buyers to want to attend viewings. An added benefit of the warm weather is that us as South Africans are usually in a better mood because of the amount of vitamin D that we are exposed to. Better moods, makes for higher buying potential.

Timing is everything when one is looking to buy a new home. Spring is therefore the perfect time to sell because many people are looking to move before the end of the year or early in the new year. This would mean that they are actively looking to purchase a home and are therefore more serious buyers because they too are working with a desired timeline.

The neighbourhoods become alive during spring. More people are out and about and keep themselves busy with outdoor activities such as exercising, walking the dog or some gardening. This bustle gives potential buyers a real feel of the neighbourhood and the street. They can gauge more realistically if the lifestyle that they potentially want to buy into, really suites them at present and possibly in the future too.

Many families are making decisions with regards to downscaling, upgrading, semi grating, or even retiring this time of year. The simple reason for this, is that many wish to start a new chapter in the beginning of the new year. This makes spring the best season to kick start that new adventure either by selling your home or buying a home to match that adventure that you have decided to embark on.
